Weather patterns at Kirkwood Mountain Resort are exceedingly difficult to predict – when venturing into the mountain, be prepared for rapid, dramatic weather changes.

Expedition: Kirkwood

A 3 day introduction course to avalanche hazard management. Students will develop a good grounding in how to prepare for and carry out a trip, understand basic decision making while in the field, and learn rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person. March 4th – 6th

Kid's Adventure Zone Closed

Open weekends only from noon to 5:00pm. Tickets can be purchased from the High Alpine Adventure Center (across from the General Store - Red Cliffs)

Timber Creek Learning Center Open

Tahoe Learning Center at Timber Creek is now open. All Learn to Ski and Burton 'Learn to Ride' programs operate out of this location. All facilities at Timber Creek are available including retail, rentals, lessons and food and beverage. Thunder Mountain Kids Snowmobiling is open from 12pm weekends & holidays depending on demand.

Mountain Village Open

Monte Wolfes will be open daily 8:00am - 4:00pm. Bub's will be open from 3pm today! Off The Wall Bar open for lunch and dinner. Village rentals and Kirkwood Mountain Sports will be open and operating out of the Village Plaza.

Kirkwood Cross Country & Snowshoe Center Open

Kirkwood Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe center is open with 80 kilometers of machine groom trails. All trails are open to ski skating, classic skiing and snowshoes. Two trails are dog friendly. Lessons are available at 10:30 and 1:30 daily. The Center is open from 9am to 5pm

Special Events & Remarks

Take part in our Presidents Week Torchlight Parade, then watch the fireworks from the Village Plaza and stay warm by the bonfire. The Winter Lounge will starting up at 3pm with a DJ spinning and Après-ski party! Food by Groovers world famous Links 'N' Drinks and The Wall Bar for Cocktails.
